Well that was a quick week wasn’t it! Halloween is over and lots are going into Christmas overdrive.

Here is a sneak peek at our Halloween costume this year, I was the Mother of “twin dragons” , the twins loved their dragon costumes which I picked up from Amazon a few months earlier, so I avoided the over inflated costume costs close to October, the costumes were a little short on the ankles however as the kids went through growth spurts but sure they were rolling around the ground for the most part so all was good in the end.

I am sticking mainly with the Christmas theme for the kids again this week and spotted another few pieces around that would make lovely holiday outfits.

First up for boys in Dunnes, for a more formal look I think this red jumper with check collar is a very sweet look, paired over the navy cords pictured below or even the suspender belted jeans for a more dressed down look. Rugby shirts are the perfect go between and these two stag motif ones will dress up and down accordingly also with the cords and jeans. Lastly I bought this jumper in the sale last year for only four euro and its back in stock now again for Christmas, I love it over these suspender belted jeans and would pair this outfit with brown ankle lace up boots for a little edgier look for boys.

For casual wear, this little “stay cool” jumper caught my eye and how fab is this bright mustard coat, perfect for spotting your little man in a busy playground. I found another fleece lined checkered shirt in a lovely red colour perfect for outdoor Santa visits to keep your boys warm but cool looking!

For girls in Dunnes this week , I fell in love with this houndstooth print skirt for girls. I have a pink frill cosy knit from Penneys I will pair this skirt with but it would be gorgeous with this gold trimmed pink knit from Dunnes or with a cream polo and cable knit tights over a pair of ankle boots. houndstooth skirtdunnes skirt and jumper houndstooth

for an edgier look this black tulle dress is more stunning in real life, the delicate embroidery on the black tulle overdress is gorgeous and perfectly paired with a gold or black sparkle cardigan.dunnes black party dress.jpg

Another party dress that caught my eye was this gold and black houndstooth dress in a more traditional style but very cute !dunnes houndstooth dress.jpg

And lastly for girls in Dunnes in the Paul Costello collection I adore this Peter pan collared top and skirt, sold as separates. The great thing about these is you can mix and match them for lots of different outfits long after Christmas and dress them up or down.dunnes pc 1dunnes pc 2

For Mammy this week , I snuck in a quick lunch time trip to Zara and tried on a few pieces I had seen online and also featured in the blog recently.

First up was the Zara lace swing dress that comes in navy and red,I didn’t see the red instore but would be tempted to buy it as I found the navy a little dull on me. However it is the perfect Christmas day dress, very very comfortable, lots of room for dinner and drinks and you still look dressy.zara navy lace.jpg

I was so disappointed with this dress, and I will always show the good the bad and the fugly on me so here goes…

I loved this dress online on the model but this is why you can never judge until you try it on . I think this dress would be stunning on a less curvy and taller person. If the arms were less poufy it would have been a far nicer dress I think.zara tulle.jpg

I love Zaras knits and their knit dresses , they’re extremely comfortable and not pricey and perfect again as a Christmas day dress and beyond. This cream pearl dress is big fitting( this was a medium) and comes in this lovely cream and also a beautiful camel colour.

Another pearl detail dress that caught my eye, was this red longer length dress, again big fitting( I tried a medium) but a contender for a comfy Christmas dress.

This is a fab coatigan in Zara right now at the moment too, wear simply over jeans and a knit with a coloured scarf for a cosy Winter look.

And lastly in Zara ,I own a pair of leather shorts from Zara for years and think they are the perfect night out wear when you are sick of dresses or jeans. They are so versatile and can be dressed with lovely cosy knits or a glitzy top.

I tried these shorts on with the black and white lace insert blouse and whilst these sequin tops would be too loud for my taste I think they would be stunning over them as an alternative Christmas party outfit with black ankle stiletto boots.

Back to Dunnes for women this week , I am loving their coats and throws at the moment. These few in particular caught my eye and were reasonably priced too.

I love this mint green frill knit from Savida and this floral embroidered mini skirt in their normal range, they are the perfect Winter clothes to layer up and down with other pieces. They would look lovely together but the jumper would also be stunning over some of the knee length PU skirts in-store right now and the recent mustard frill knits in Penneys would go with this skirt beautifully.dunnes turquoise frill jumperdunnes skirt floral

And that is it for this week, hopefully you have spotted something that might suit you or the kids over the coming holiday season and I will hopefully get out a bit more over the weekend to see what else is starting to come in stock to stores. Have a lovely weekend xx
